Our Policies and Terms of Service

Standard Terms of Service

Updated and Effective: 11/1/2024

Metro Scoop is an independently owned and operated business (“us,” “we” or “our”) that provides pet-waste removal services to residences, businesses and commercial properties. By using our service (“Services”) you agree to, and are bound to, the following terms of service (“Terms”).

Service

Metro Scoop offers residential and commercial pet waste removal services. These services include One Time Clean, Weekly Cleaning, Twice Weekly Cleaning, and Every Other Week Cleaning. All pricing quoted by our instant quote feature is based on an area size of an 1/8th of an acre. Larger areas will have an additional charge. An initial cleaning charge of $25 (with recurring service purchased) will be charged if it has been longer than 30 days since your last cleaning. This will cover one hour of service. $1/minute will be charged after 1 hour. The customer understands that our ability to provide the Services can be dependent on weather, condition of yard (grass height, debris, water/snow covered, etc.), accessibility of the yard (gate locked/blocked/frozen, unsafe dog, etc.), Technician availability, and other uncontrollable factors. Standard service includes securely bagging the waste and leaving it in a trash receptacle (if available). We will haul away the waste for an additional fee. Lawn mowing services following clean-ups can also be provided for an additional fee.

Weather

Metro Scoop will work through the rain, snow, heat, and cold as long as we can safely do so. The customer understands we cannot work through severe thunderstorms, high winds, extreme high or low temperatures, flooding/excessive mud, or significant snow accumulation. We do not offer refunds for missed cleanings due to weather. In cases where we are forced to miss a cleaning due to weather, we will skip service for that cleaning, and see you the following cleaning ready to pull double duty. A refund will not be issued as we still have to pick up all of the waste that was missed the prior cleaning. If you need the area cleaned before your next scheduled service, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee it.

Yard Condition and Access

The Customer understands that if Metro Scoop is unable to access the area needing cleaning due to locked/blocked/frozen gates or aggressive dogs in the yard, the cleaning will be skipped and charges will still apply. Metro Scoop suggests adding gate combinations or lock keys to your file to avoid locked gates. Additionally, we may be forced to skip a cleaning, or could possibly not find all the waste in the yard, if the grass is high and/or excessive debris or leaves are in the yard. We will always do our best to clean your yard at every cleaning. We understand that maintaining your yard is a lot of work and it may not always be in the best shape. The customer understands that it can be very difficult to find waste in tall grass or in a yard full of leaves or other debris. We will be back on our next scheduled visit and will get anything that was missed if yard maintenance has been completed. That said, If you find an excessive amount that we missed, please let us know as soon as possible at service@metroscoop.dog or 734-295-POOP.

Holidays

Metro Scoop does not provide services on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If your cleaning falls on one of these days, we will skip service that week and provide it the following week. There are no refunds offered for holidays as the same amount of work (double duty) will be provided the following week. We also reserve the right to alter your cleaning days on occasion based on technician availability/vacations.

Billing and Payment

Metro Scoop pre bills monthly for our service. Your account will be charged on the 1st of the month for service. If your card is declined, we will discontinue service immediately until the issue has been resolved. If more than 30 days have passed since your last clean up, a first time clean up fee will be applied. We will only pause service for periods of 30 days or less. If service does not resume before the 30 day period you will be
removed from the schedule. Services are determined on a per week basis and billed monthly based a 52-week year. Weekly Cost X 52 (weeks in a year) / 12 (months in a year.) This provides consistent billing and you are not billed more in months that have more than 4 weeks in them.

EXAMPLE:
You’ve chosen a once per week service for one dog in a standard-sized yard. $17/week
$17X52 = $884. $884/12 = $73.67. You will be billed monthly for $73.67

Payments become late 3 days after due date. All late payments will be charged a $15 late fee. $25 fee charged for all declined checks.

We accept check or credit card but prefer credit card since it is much less overhead to process. Checks must be received before service begins. They can be mailed to Metro Scoop at 32224 Michigan Ave Wayne, MI 48184 or can be provided to the technician on the service start date before the service in rendered. Credit cards can be processed automatically on our website.

These Terms may be amended from time to time with or without notice. Amendments will be effective upon our posting of such updated Terms to our website Policies and Terms page. We recommend you visit this page regularly to review any changes in our policies and terms. Your continued use of our Services shall constitute acceptance of any changes to the Policies and Terms. Some of the provisions contained in these policies and terms terms may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on our site.
